Miss Megan....I have known this girl since she was born.

This fall she turned 13 and her mom thought it would be a great "13th" gift to give her a surprise photo session. Her surprise started with a hair appointment then to the studio to spend a couple of hours with me! What a great session; I captured her fun, outgoing side
and then her serious mature side. Over the years Megan has helped me with
different photo events; she is one of the most kindest, sweetest kids I have ever met.
It was my complete pleasure to capture this special moment in her life.

The wide wide world of the internet is always interesting. It connects you with people you would normally never connect with, meet or even become aware of. With my recent post of my bucket list; I was connected with someone that believes in the idea and importance of inspiration and
self motivation. Sometimes when life seems a little unfair; goals and inspiration may bring you the guidance you need. The following is a wonderful article that was shared
with me ~ I would now like to share with you; enjoy the read.

Perhaps today is your day to inspire someone else....

Most people have goals they wish to accomplish in their lifetimes; whether large-scale ambitions or small desires, people have things they wish to achieve. In most cases, a person's list of desired accomplishments usually far outweighs his list of completed goals: Making a plan is usually easier than following through.

For some, however, pursuing goals becomes paramount to happiness and even health. Individuals who suffer from serious medical conditions such as fibromyalgia, mesothelioma treatment and autoimmune disorders are faced every day with challenges to their health and happiness. For these individuals, achieving goals and moving toward achievements can be a form of empowerment, allowing them to rise above daily challenges and do what they want with their life.

With any type of goal-setting, the first and most important step to success is accountability. Whether you're looking for motivation to pursue new treatment options or scale Mount Everest, you need to come up with your goals and write them down somewhere that you can see them. Keeping goals somewhere tangible, rather than having them floating around in your thoughts, makes them tangible. It also allows you to share your progress with others who can offer moral support, advice and guidance.

If you want, you can write the goals and post them somewhere in your home or office. Telling your family about your goals will help to get them on-board with positive changes that you make in your life. No matter what the prognosis for your disease, you can take control of certain aspects of your health through positive changes in your life. Be sure that your family understands the importance of your goals so that they will help you along that path.

If you are feeling bold, you can post your goals and even monitor your achievements online through various kinds of community. Perhaps you want to start a blog talking about how you face and overcome challenges of illness and health concerns; other people in your same situation can then share their thoughts, and together you can inspire each other. Alternatively, you might want to start blogging about achieving goals, no matter how big or how small. You could make it your goal to try one new, small way of feeling better every day for a year, and blog about the results.

For people who like the idea of an online community around goals and inspiration but don't want to blog, you might consider joining one of the many list-making websites online. These sites allow you to make lists about anything you choose, and you can share these lists and mark off your progress as the goals are achieved.

A revisit ~ to my bucket list..

In Sept of 2010 I decided to give you a small glimpse of my bucket list. Now; with the start of a new year; it's time to revisit it! I have very proudly scratched more off my list!

I always feel the need to rethink and make new goals. Work on the ones I haven't reached and set new ones. I am a goal seeker; I need them; I strive for them. They motivate me. I am a BIG believer in positive thinking, the vision board and all that good stuff!

So....make your list...strive for your goals....feed your soul.....it feels good!

1.) ~~marry someone who loves me as much I love them~~
2.) ~~have two children. one boy & one girl~~

3.) ~~swim with the dolphins~~

4.) ~~get married on a tropical island~~

5.) sky dive

6.) swim with sharks (my biggest fear in life)

7.) photograph another birth

8.) ~~go on a family holiday with my parents and siblings~~

9.) ~~own my own photography business~~

9.) scuba dive ( again the shark issue )

10.) visit Paris

11.) ~~re-do our kitchen top to bottom~~

12.) take a family vacation to Disney with my kids

18.) host an outdoor mexican themed party with all my girlfriends (always wanted this)

23.) really learn how to snowboard

24.) stay in a little hut on the shores of Thailand

26.) learn how to meditate..properly

28.) have one of my photos published in a photo magazine

29.) complete my certificate in photography

30.) take my family and children skiing to the mountains

31.) ~~host an event and donate all money to a charity~~

33.) see my son grow out of his allergies ( beyond my control but want it to happen )

34.) ~~zipline through the jungle~~

So that is a small preview of my list.... I encourage you to make yours...and strive for it!

Steven & Leanna ~ Wedding Day ~

This past fall I had taken Steven and Leanna's engagement photos. I knew after our session that their wedding was going to be super fun and easty going! This was my last wedding for 2011. It was a chilly November day but a beautiful winter wedding! Steven & Leanna and their wedding party were so fun, so relaxed and ready to do whatever I asked of them. With everything taking place in Brandon we had tons of time to cruise around in a big beautiful limo and stop wherever we wished. Congratulations you guys; may your life be filled with love and laughter!

Well what is usually a fairly slow month for me has been a whirlwind! As of November 18th, I crossed something off of my bucket list! Opening a studio! It has been over the top exciting, nerve racking and fullfilling all at once!

Follow the Leader ~ family photo session

Once again the weeks have slipped by and I realized I haven't blogged for awhile..so here it is!
I have been busy designing wedding albums and cramming in many fall sessions before the snow flies!

This session took place a few nights ago, it was a little cool as we were doing a sunset session due to everyone's work schedules. Oh little Miss I...she basically called the shots for this session. We followed her around as she explored the park, played on the bridge, played with stones and walked and walked and walked. She was so adorable, so independent and a little challenging to capture! You know that busy 18 month old stage when all they want to do is explore....so very very cute!

Fall Family Session

This beautiful family and I have tried to coordinate our schedules a few times so I was so happy that we finally got to get together. Being that little miss A is only a few months old we wanted it to be warm and sunny and we totally lucked out! It wasn't long into our session when miss A decided it was nap time. As you can see...she can sleep through anything and anywhere! So so so adorable.....

This family and I have alot of history. They lived across the river from my family when I was growing up. It was so wonderful that the three boys, their parents and their families all got together on a beautiful fall day to capture some memories. Families don't do this enough (mine included) - make a point of getting together and taking some pictures, capturing some memories and having some fun while doing it!

These families are HUGE John Deere fans; horse lovers and all around farm based. I was very much in my element, in my comfort zone out on their farm....wandering around finding so many great places for pics.

Leigha & Mark's Wedding Day ~ 30 July 2011

August....were did you go? I am VERY far behind on my blog posts...so I better get blogging!

Mark & Leigha; what a fantastic couple! By the end of the day; I felt like I had known them forever. I met the girls out on the farm by Binscarth at Mark & Leigha's house. The yard was buzzing with campers, kids and a whole lot family everywhere! It was a beautiful summer day and everyone was excited.

The ceremony was held at the Binscarth theatre and then the reception next door at the hall. In between the festivities; we headed back to the farm, the neighbours place and to a beautiful
valley for pics....oh this valley!

When Mark said that I should hop in with them in the trucks; he really meant it. I can honestly say, I have never climbed hills in a truck (while shooting a wedding.) Ohhh...the climbing and bouncing around was worth every minute. Look at this view!!! This is the magical hill where these two love birds got engaged so it was very appropriate to head back on their special day!

A very candid moment but one of my favorite's of the day!

Rachelle & Steven's Wedding Day ~ July 23rd ~ Manitoba Wedding Photographer

I packed up and headed up to Russell to meet everyone at the Russell Inn. The girls in one big room getting ready and the boys in another. Everyone was super excited! With lots of chatter and giggles everyone was running around getting ready. I was back and forth between the rooms catching moments as the countdown began to the ceremony.

As I was just about to head outside wih the boys before the ceremony and it started to rain. With the use of the Inn and their decor we took some inside pics. Luckily their was an ample supply of umbrellas as we started to head to the church.

Mother nature doesn't always cooperate but luckily we had some great indoor options for some pics! Just before the evening celebration was about to start; the clouds broke and
the sun came out for bit! I grabbed Steven and Rachelle and we headed to the
memorial park for a few outdoor pics!

Overall it was a wonderful day filled with lots of love and laughter. The decor and detail in the hall was perfect, the lights and candles set the perfect atmostphere for the night!

Thank you for asking me to be a part of your special day, it was a ton of fun!

Grad 2011

This past month has seemed to have flown by; with grads and a wedding and a few family sessions
in there it was a crazy month! School is done and summer has arrived....yippee!

This sneak peek is of a beautiful grad from Hartney.....Miss Jaydene. I had no idea where I was going but with my directions in hand I headed out to meet her and her family at her dad's farm.

What a beautiful day we had for this beautiful couple! The wedding took place in Brandon at the Victoria Inn with some outdoor photos at City Hall and one of Brandon's beautiful parks. After some fun
family and wedding party pics we headed back to the Vic to a beautifully decorated room and
an evening of fun and dancing.

When this couple danced their first dance; it literally gave me goosebumps. It was like they were the only ones in the room. So very in love; very in the moment, completely in tune with each other. I will start with that photo because it is one of my favorites from the day.

This was such an exciting wedding to be a part of; I work with Amy so I got to watch her excitement grow the closer we got to the BIG day. The morning of; I headed out to her mom and dads farm where she grew up. Oh her dad....watching him made me smile. He was the proudest father; running around singing and taking pictures,
helping in the kitchen and making us all laugh.

Since mother nature wasn't really cooperating; we headed indoors to Amy's brothers house and did some family pics. Of course we couldn't not have some outdoor pics so we got the umbrella's out and braved the weather! What a super wedding party; so relaxed...so fun!

Easter Adventure 2011

Six years ago after my son was born my dear friend Kelly and I came up with an idea! Let's do an Easter Shoot with our kids and a real bunny! So we headed out to our friends barn, borrowed their bunny, sat our boys on some bales and did a little photo session in the barn. That was the beginning of it.

So; here we are six years later still doing our Annual Easter Event. Now we invite all surrounding communities, hide 700 Easter Eggs, do professional photos and have a wonderful afternoon full of fun! I've said it before but I love what I do...I mean really love...that inside mushy feeling you get when your truly happy! That was me....in the chaos, the giggles, the 700 eggs and the room packed with kids,
and the 45 kids or so that I took photos of. When all was said and done and
I got home....I was exhausted but thought....now that was F.U.N.

Cabo San Lucas Mexico.....what a beautiful place. I was fortunate to spend the last week down there as I watched one of my dearest friends get married to the man of her dreams. ( yes, I will share some pics from the wedding ) While I was there; I did a couple of sessions for some very special friends. My sister and I spent the week together and had such a wonderful holiday filled with alot of great memories!

Big Brown Eyes - Newborn & Family Photographer

This was the first time meeting this wonderful family; so I was excited! As soon as they walked in; the little boy stole my heart; with his big brown eyes full of life - he was chatting up a storm and I instantly knew we were already buddies! Yah...that would sure make things easier..especially because he was 2 1/2 yrs old!

oohhh...and then comes his little sister from underneath the blanket in her car seat!
Adorable...and more big brown eyes! So very very sweet. I enjoyed our session; between snacks and the playtime with the spiderman guys...we had a great morning!

Kauai 2011

Our favorite place on earth...Kauai, Hawaii.

We got married there ten years ago last month and always said we would go back for our anniversary! We spent our last morning on the island out on the ocean....what a fantastic experience. When I was little I wanted to be a marine biologist, exactly for this reason. I was so pumped with adrenaline I could feel my heart pounding as we cruised across the ocean in a 30 foot boat, it was really like a BIG dingy but with a couple of motors. With my camera strapped to my neck I was cranking my head in every direction to catch the first glimpse of these beautiful animals. For the next five hrs or so; we were surrounded by the beautiful Na Pali Coast and these big incredible animals. I really can't even explain the experience; other than the fact that I will never forget it. Here is a small glimpse from our day....it was magical and exciting.

My first winter engagement session.....how super exciting! It ended up being a beautiful, sunny winter day....thank goodness because in mid February one just never knows what mother nature will bring!

I really had no idea where we were heading; nor did they so we climbed in my truck and drove. Stopping along at a few places that just jumped out at me! I usually have everything planned out but with this one; we just went with the flow! What a fun, loving, adorable couple......

You know how sometimes people come into your life that have a completely different affect on you than others. That`s how I would explain my friendship with Raylene. We met a few years ago when they asked me to capture their wedding for them. Raylene is a very talented and down to earth artist! When she asked me to capture some of her work for her I wasn`t really sure what to expect as I have never done anything like that before.
To be very honest the best part of our session was the wonderful and motivating conversation we had.

Raylene is a self-taught artist with over 15 years of passionate obsession with Lettering & Celtic Knots.
She works in coloured pencil and ink. She believes that all problems large and petty
could be solved if more people validated their natural instincts to Live Inspired. She hopes that
her work inspires others to live authentically.

I wanted to share her work with you...she inspired me....
perhaps she will do the same for you!

Well...it`s December!

What a better way to kick off the Christmas season...hanging out with the jolly guy in red!
I kind of took the month of November off (for a few reasons) so I was thrilled to have my gear back in my hand for our SANTA day! It was so fun capturing all the giggles and smiles as the kids climbed up on SANTA`s knee while whispering magical secrets in his ear! This was our 5th Annual SANTA event and it went fantastic!

It was a beautiful day; I got to hang out at Gone Scrappin In Bloom drinking yummy lattes and watching the big fluffy snow fall through the gorgeous decorated store windows! (thanks again Kel :)

Although this adorable little girl was freezing and not feeling 100% this specific morning...she did fantastic! Little miss `T` is only a few months older than my daughter so I got a kick out of listening to her chat and watching her and her little personality!

I have known this mom since our ``younger`` days...so for awhile you could say! When she asked me to come and take some shots of her kids I was thrilled. These were like having perfect little models...willing to climb on, over and under anything I asked them too!

The weather....oh the joys of the weather! It was SO windy this day; we headed to Rossman lake for a quick photo session. Quick only due to the tornado like winds and the chilly breeze off of the lake! We managed to find some neat little places to hide out from the wind around the golf course! As usual; the girls were fantastic and brought along their adorable little smiles!

I approached my last wedding for 2010 with a ton of mixed emotions!

We could not of asked for a more beautiful fall day. I was very excited for this wedding; not only did I know all the bridesmaids but the bride has been a friend of mine for years! Not to mention; my beautiful sister Kali was also a bridesmaid...all the more fun! We started in Minnedosa mid morning, headed to Olha for church then country cruised back roads finding neat little locations for pictures on the way back to Minnedosa for the reception! The day was fantastic...the wedding party was fantastic...a perfect
way to end my wedding season!

What a whirlwind, exciting, exhausting, fun fall! I have been meaning to blog for weeks now and was floored it had been that long when I looked at my last entry. Where has the time gone....today is
October 1st..seriously...October already! I will be honest; I am a little behind on my sneak
previews...ok maybe alot behind!

I have known this couple for a long time, a very long time! We have been trying to hook up to do pictures since last summer...finally! Their family of three is about to grow; Amber looked absolutely stunning and of course the men in her family are as adorable as always!

I was thrilled when Pam asked me to take some pics of her and her family! We meet at Clear Lake....the spot where they spend alot of family time together. I have known Pam for a long time so it was
kinda cool to meet her hubby & kids! It was a breezy fall morning but the colors

I have held off posting because I couldn`t decide what I wanted to blog about or what session I should share. I`m not going to share a session...I`m just going to write....about me...my life.
I think every person should have their own bucket list...to do list....whatever you want to call it. I am a big believer in ``positive`` thinking and the power of the universe....in my own weird way!

I headed to Russell on this perfect fall day to capture the love between these two wonderful people. They were so relaxed, fun and easy going....ready to take on any crazy idea I had! We hit up multiple locations with this big wedding party but they were fantastic and super fun!

We came across this yard with these old vehicles..so the girls headed to the house and asked if we could do take some quick photos with the old vehicles! The bridal party came up with their own ideas and we got some great photos! It was so fun.....cant wait to show you guys the rest!

This weekend was our fundraiser for the Canadian Childrens Wish Foundation....we had a fantastic weekend! A special thanks to my partner Kristin; not only she did help me organize this event; she made everyone more beautiful by doing their hair before they headed to the beach with me for some photos! Thank you to EVERYONE for helping, supporting, donating and coming to hang out with us!

I was super excited about this weekend...for alot of reasons. One of them being that I got to do my first

Rock the Dress (Trash the Dress) session!
My dear friend Riss wanted to help us out with our fundraiser and thought this was the perfect way to do it! After celebrating 9 years of marriage last month it was time to take out the dress and celebrate! I do admit at first it was kinda weird seeing her in her dress again...but she looked stunning....

There are SO many photos from all my sessions I would love to share but I thought I would start with this one! Thanks Riss.....I was completely in my element...in my zone...loving every second of it!

A two day wedding....a two day celebration!

I have known Florence & Derrick a long time; the three of us went to school together so it was very
cool that they asked me to capture their special day for them! It started friday evening on the shore of Rossman Lake on a beautiful dock with a sunset ceremony. The supper and reception was held the following day with family & friends!
Flo & Derrick have two adorable little boys as well as a little one on the way!

As we were walking towards the dock I asked her if she was nervous; she replied by saying there is nothing to be nervous about when you know you are doing the right thing!
You are so right Florence....well said!

Getting engaged has to be one of the most exciting days of your life...it is life`s all natural high! When my dear friend Tam broke the exciting news to me a few wks ago I was over the top thrilled for her and Scott! I have known Tammy forever and she has waited a long time to meet Mr. Right.....I couldn't be more happy for her, she deserves all the love in the world!

They flew home this past wknd for an event at Clear Lake so I headed up to do some engagement photos for them! I was sooo excited to do these...for a number of reasons....to have them to myself for two hrs....to capture their love and happiness and just because I am so thrilled for them!

What a day.....what started with alot of thunder and a little rain shower ended up being a very hot sunny day! Considering the ceremony took place by a lake in a beautiful park, I was extremely happy
to see the sun!

After the ceremony we did all the family pics in the park then headed out to a beautiful farm yard for some more pics with the bridal party! It was a fun and hot afternoon!

The adorable little blonde is Ashley & Tylers son ; although it was nap time during the ceremony he did a fantastic job! He looked so precious in his little tux....

I have done a few shoots for Ash & Tyler and am completely honored they asked me to

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is about dignity, about dreams come true and about quality of life for children coping with high risk, life threatening illnesses. It's about allowing families a break from day to day trials of tests, treatments and hospital stays and most importantly, it's about smiles on the faces of very special children!

We decided to make a day to celebrate you!

Start by getting pampered by Kristin Stebeleski who will give you a customized hair do for your photo session! Sit back and enjoy some beverages and snacks while preparing for your photo shoot! Once you are ready you will join Kendra Sitko from KITKO photography on the beach for a fun photo session!

This day is about you; it can be a day to yourself or share the day with friends, family, spouse or a loved one!

Feel free to wear whatever you wish ~ this can be your trash the dress session or be completely
casual in jeans!

aaahhh summer time.....I love it...the lake, the campfires, the swimming lessons and the great friends! We have spent the last two weeks at the lake camping and had a fantastic time. Every summer we get the chance to reunite with friends that head back to the lake for some summer holidays! (once I get through the next few crazy wks I will perhaps post some pics of my own kids...)

Although I was on holidays from my ``other job`` I am never really on holidays from the one thing I love....capturing moments! So that is what I did...early one morning I set out for a stroll around the lake for a few giggles and smiles with this adorable family!

Oh what a funny little 5 year old.....this was our third photo session together so mr. reegan decided to take charge! I think I might of been in control the first five minutes and then he was calling the shots!
Where they stood...what mommy had to do....and how long we were there for....

GRAD 2010...how super exciting! Congratulations to ALL the grads on your big day! I spent the majority of friday with the Rossburn graduating class and all day and evening yesterday with the Shoal Lake grads! Oh the dresses, the hair, the tears and many hugs I witnessed over the past few days!

My whirlwind wknd started with this amazing family friday morning; Vanessa`s mom asked me to do photos for them well over a year ago and I loved every minute of our session together!

They are fun...relaxed....real...and a very close family! It was the perfect way to start the day.

Aaahhh...it feels soo good to do something you enjoy so much! I almost completely forgot how much i loved to scrapbook! This past wknd I escaped to Camp Wannacumbak for a scrapbooking retreat...and it was FANTASTIC!

I had no idea what I was going to work on; so I packed up EVERYTHING and headed to camp! I completed 23 pages and loved every second of it!

The paper, stickers, embellishments....all so fun!

Did I mention the paper, LOVE paper! I may have a small addiction to it!

Ooohhhh the difference between little boys and little girls! I could of spent hours with Nadia, changing clothes, giggling, playing, capturing shots along the way! Mr Oliver on the other hand....is such a boy. Once he spotted the ride on toy and squishy spider he really wanted no part of the picture idea! In between rides, snacks and spider attacks I ended up with some great shots!

We were fortunate enough to spend a week together along with a ton of other people down in Mexico! We hit the beach early in the morning before the crowds and captured some family fun time around our resort! I have been working many late nights over the past few months to finalize my latest project! I am thrilled beyond words and so excited to launch my NEW website! It has been on my to do list for well over a year and I was determined to get it done before I go back to work! (in two weeks) So here it is….check it out….and PLEASE let me know your feedback. I have looked at it so many times while designing it I am sure I have spelt something wrong or missed something all together!!!

I have had numerous requests for different photo products and have been “testing” the waters over the past year with some of them. The “Investment Section” is where you will find all the details!

I just want to take this moment to thank my family and friends for your constant encouragement, support and push in the right direction over the past six years. I am blessed to be able to do something that I am so passionate and crazy about! I had a huge reminder of this on the 21st of January where I was honored to photograph my dear friend getting married on the beach in Mexico. As I was totally wrapped up in taking photos of everyone at the beach after the ceremony; someone came up to me and made a comment on how it was very evident that I was in my zone and loving every moment of it! I had completely forgotten that I was actually working at that exact moment…for this I am thankful for!

This month I have been busy with ``mommy & me`` sessions! I have had so many moms sign up for the shoots that I have decided to run it for the month of June as well! I have also decided to rent some studio space in Shoal Lake for a couple of months! I have fallen in love with this adorable little space! It is calm, relaxing and I love hanging out there! I am afraid it will be hard to pack up and leave!
